MENDOTA - Mark Pohl, left, the Mendota VFW Commander, is proud to announce Quin Holland, son of Troy and Aimee Holland of Mendota, as their "Voice of Democracy" winner. Established in 1947, the VFW Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves by creating a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Holland’s audio essay advanced to district-level competition where he placed third and earned a $100 scholarship.
