Virus testing available for 2 days in Mendota

MENDOTA – The LaSalle County Health Department is announcing a temporary drive-through COVID-19 testing site sponsored by the State of Illinois, which will be held in Mendota. The site will be set up on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mendota Civic Center, 1901 Tom Merwin Drive. 

Some important details about the testing site:

  • Simple nasal swabs will be used.
  • You will be called with results within 4-7 days.
  • No cost for testing.
  • Bring your insurance card, but you can still be tested if you do not have insurance.
  • Anyone can get tested. You do not have to have symptoms or be sick.
