MENDOTA - Virginia Ann “Ginny” Pohl, 50, passed away Aug. 15, 2018 at Aperion Care, Princeton.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Ginny was born Feb. 20, 1968 in Spring Valley to David and Annette (Houski) Pohl.
Survivors include her father, David (Carol Elmore) Pohl of Mendota; two brothers, Tim (Molly) Pohl and Mark Pohl, both of Mendota; two nieces, Bailee and Emma; and four nephews, Blake, Brody, Sebastian and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her mother in 2009.
Ginny was a member of Holy Cross Church and former member of St. Mary Altar Society, Mendota Moose and Elks Lodge where she bowled in Monday Night Bowling League. She was a 1986 graduate of Mendota High School. She was a long time counter lady at Sip-N-Snack in Mendota and was co-owner of Pohl’s Office Supply with her brothers. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and NASCAR fan. She attended all of the sporting events for her godchildren, Madison and Walker Menzel. Ginny always had a smile for everyone she met.
