Posted

SUBLETTE — The Sublette Village Board met in a quick meeting on March 12 at the Ellice Dinges Center, turning numerous items over to committee for discussion.

Sublette Village President Michael Vaessen recommended having committee meetings to discuss the proposed new maintenance building, street work and drainage.

On the topic of the village taking over and moving the Sublette Business Association lighted sign, that issue too, was turned over to be discussed at an upcoming committee meeting.

The upcoming committee meetings will be posted with a time and date.

Vaessen told the board that ZBest may want to be let out of their contract for the village mowing. He added that he has two people interested in taking over the job. Vaessen recommended that the matter go before committee before the board makes a final decision on the matter. That committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 15 at the Ellice Dinges Center.

Lee County Treasurer candidate Paula Meyer introduced herself to the board. She said she had walked the village going door to door introducing herself on Sunday. The primary election will be held on Tuesday, March 20.

The Sublette Village Board will hold its next monthly meeting at 7 p.m., on Monday, April 9, at the Ellice Dinges Center.
