PAW PAW – The Village of Paw Paw met to discuss several topics at the April 11 regular board meeting.
Marni Henert, of Rock River Energy Services, gave a presentation on the various available electric providers. The Village’s current contract with Constellation Energy Electricity Supplier will be up June 30, and she has researched the upcoming rates for various providers. It was decided by the board to go with MC2 for providing electricity for the street lights, with a three-year contract, locked in low rates.
After a separate presentation, it was voted to go with Dynegy Energy Services for residents that wish to be members of the Village aggregate rates. A three-year contract was also approved.
Currently about 222 Paw Paw homes belong to the villages aggregate services, resulting in a 9 percent lower than ComEd electric bill for those participants. About 120 homes have decided to stay with ComEd, and about 66 homes have contracted with other providers for their electric services. If one belongs to the village aggregate provider, one can unsubscribe at any time, without penalty. If no choice is made, the home is automatically contracted through ComEd.
Residents are cautioned not to sign-up with phone or door-to-door solicitors until they have investigated all their options.
Residents are also reminded that homes may not have accumulated garbage, old cars, various rummage, visible in their yards.
Prom will be held this year in the golf course golf-cart building.
