MENDOTA – A memorial service for Veronica “Ronnie” Dickey of Mendota will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 24 at Holy Cross Church in Mendota. She passed away Jan. 19, 2017 at the Mendota Lutheran Home where she had been a resident for eight years.
Ronnie was born in Chicago to Charles and Mary Walkowiak and would have turned 102 on Feb. 11.
Survivors include two sons, C.W. “Bill” (Brenda) Dickey of Somonauk and Michael Dickey of Mendota; a special daughter-in-law, Jeri Dickey Atherton of Mendota; eight grandchildren; a special grandson, Steffan Knapp of Colorado; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; her husband, E.L. Dickey in 1997; and a son, Thomas E. Dickey in 2014.
Merritt Funeral Home is assisting the family with memorial arrangements.
