MENDOTA - Verdell J. Miller, 89, of Mendota, formerly of Aurora, passed away Dec. 27, 2018 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Services will be held privately.
Verdell was born May 5, 1929 in Geneva to Godfrey and Marie (Graff) Bowman. She married Elden Miller on May 31, 1947. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons Wayne (Carol Ann) and Glenn (Nora); four grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Taylor and Tiffany; one sister, Viola Plante; and one brother, Robert Bowman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Godfrey Jr.; and one sister, Ruth.
In Aurora, Verdell was an active member of the Tabitha Guild Women’s Club, choir and PTL organization at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After moving to Mendota, she joined St. John’s Lutheran Church and was active in choir and Bible Club. Her family was her life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She always looked forward to family gatherings, camping and wonderful vacation trips and just talking with friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
