SYCAMORE – Mendota’s boys’ track team participated in the Gary Egler Invitational on March 13 at Sycamore. Both the varsity and freshman-sophomore teams competed.
In varsity results, Eddy Sandoval posted the top finish for the Trojans with a third-place showing in the 400-meter dash in a time of 56.24.
Also, Cole Stremlau took fourth place in the shot put with a heave of 39-7, while Josue Arteaga was sixth in the triple jump with a measurement of 36-1.5.
In freshman-sophomore action, Raul Gonzalez grabbed second-place honors in the shot put at 36-6.5, which was just one-half inch off the first-place finisher.
Damien Magallanes placed in a pair of events for the Trojans. He finished third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.44 and was fifth in the 400-meter dash at 1:00.65.
