TROY GROVE - US 52 near Troy Grove will be closed beginning April 1 and remain closed until late November.
In announcing the closure, the Illinois Department of Transportation said the project will include removing and replacing the bridge over the Little Vermillion River approximately one mile west of Interstate 39. The $1,569,241 contract has been awarded to D Construction, Inc. of Coal City.
During the closure, I-39, US 34 and Illinois 52 will be the posted detour. Signs will be utilized to direct motorists during the closure.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert of workers and equipment.
