LA SALLE - Free amplified phones are available for Illinois residents who are deaf/hard-of-hearing. Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living (IVCIL) in LaSalle will hold an open house on Monday, March 11 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to test a free amplified phone. In addition, mini cell phone amplifiers are available.
Interested individuals should call (815) 224-3126 to schedule an appointment or request an application form. To qualify, an individual must be a resident of Illinois, have a certified hearing loss and have an active land line or cell phone service. There are no age or income restrictions.
IVCIL is located at 18 Gunia Dr., LaSalle (off of Rt. 351 in north LaSalle).
