AMBOY – The Mendota boys’ track team went up against three other squads in a quadrangular meet at Amboy on April 2. Kewanee claimed the top spot in the event with 89 points, followed by Amboy-LaMoille with 70, Sterling Newman with 55 and the Trojans with 27.
Mendota did not have a first-place winner, but took second in three events. Josue Arteaga was runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 37-2 and Jae’Shaun Hughes was second in the high jump at 5-0, while the Trojans’ 400-meter relay team also took second with a time of 47.06.
