Trojan golfers have up and down week

Mendota took on Three Rivers Conference foes Hall and Princeton in a triangular golf meet on Sept. 5 at Princeton. The Red Devils turned in the low score of 175, followed by Mendota at 177 and Princeton at 180.
Brody Hartt and Dane Doyle led the Trojans with rounds of 43. Owen Aughenbaugh was one shot back at 44, followed by Grady Jones (47), Cale Strouss (50) and Evan McPheeters (50).
Mendota fired a 184 to top the junior varsity field, while Hall was second (199) and Princeton (208) brought up the rear.
Nick Sheridan carded a 43 to lead the way for Mendota. Also shooting in the 40s were Jonas Fitzgerald with a 45, and Alex Holland and Collin Coss, both with 48s. Kooper Novak (54) and Jace Baird (56) also competed for the Trojans.

Mendota and DePue played in a freshman-sophomore dual match on Sept. 6 at the Mendota course and the Trojans prevailed, 209-292.
Swinging clubs for the Trojans were Sheridan (47), Coss (47), Caleb Ensor (53), Brody Kaecker (62), Haden Shakespeare (62) and Ivan Botello (70).

A highly-competitive three-team meet went to the Trojans on Sept. 7 at Rockridge. Mendota shot an excellent round of 167 to beat out Mercer County (170) and Rockridge (175).
Aughenbaugh captured meet medalist honors with a sizzling round of 36. Hartt checked in next with a 42, followed by Strouss at 44 and McPheeters at 45. Doyle (47) and Jones (48) also competed for Mendota.
The Trojans also claimed the junior varsity meet with a 187. Mercer County was second with a 214, while Rockridge carded a 253.
Coss was the medalist with a 43. Holland, Fitzgerald and Sheridan each had rounds of 48, while Baird and Novak each had a 54.

Mendota finished third in a triangular at Sheffield on Sept. 8. Sherrard won with a 158, Bureau Valley carded a 168 and the Trojans totaled 170. Andrew Boland of Bureau Valley was the medalist with a 38.
Aughenbaugh had Mendota’s low score with a 41. Hartt was one shot off the pace with a 42, followed by Strouss (43) and Doyle (44). McPheeters (45) and Jones (49) also competed for the Trojans.
Bureau Valley outdueled the Mendota junior varsity, 179-183.
Hitting the course for the Trojans were Fitzgerald (44), Coss (45), Holland (46), Baird (48), Novak (49) and Sheridan (50).
