MENDOTA - Dar Wujek of the Mendota Museum & Historical Society, pictured, answered questions from visitors inside the 1937 Illinois Central Mail Storage Car during Railroad Crossing and Country Fair Day, June 17. The mail storage car was recently renovated, inside and out, to its original state.
Rolling stock open to the public also included the 1949 Golden Trencher Café Car, the 1938 Milwaukee Combine Car, 1923 CB&Q steam locomotive, and the 1911 CB&Q wooden caboose.
This year's celebration marked Union Depot Railroad Museum’s 20th anniversary.
