ROCK FALLS – Five first-place finishes helped Mendota’s boys’ track team to second place in a triangular meet at Rock Falls on April 12. The host Rockets won with 98 points, followed by Mendota (42) and Fulton (39).
The Trojans took first in three track events and two field events. Winning on the track were Eddy Sandoval in the 200-meter dash (24.49), Jonathan Patino in the 800-meter run (2:17.37) and Ethan Ruiz in the 1600-meter run (5:17.28). Also claiming blue ribbons were Eli Otterbach in the high jump (6-0) and Bret Mumm in the discus (114-4).
