MENDOTA – Northern Partners Cooperative of Mendota will be bringing Chicago’s Golden Knights Drill Team to perform in this year’s 70th Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade on Sunday, Aug. 13.
The Golden Knights perform drills and dance moves to pop, hiphop and techno beats. But that is not all, the Knights assist youth in evolving and growing into responsible adults. The Knights are very proud of the over 1,000 hours of community service completed each year. They are particularly proud of community service they perform for the City of Chicago with their “Together Our Neighborhoods Evolve” project, and with their annual “Feed The Homeless” event. The Knights also perform in numerous parades and at corporate events each year. They are coming to Mendota, following their performance in Chicago’s Bud Billikin Parade, where they won top honors last year.
Northern Partners Co-Op and their employees remind you parade step-off is 1 p.m. on Festival Sunday…..Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the day.
