Blackstone Principal's Awards

The May Principal Award pizza lunch was held May 19 at Blackstone School. Students honored with a pizza lunch with their principal, Stacy Kelly, front row, left to right, were Livi Perryman, Lumen Setchell, Elizandro Orozco, Samuel Arteaga; middle row, Jaidynn Land, Delilah Karahalios, Adrian Trejo, Cody Falcon; back row, Ashtyn Stamberger, Briceida Gonzalez, Arabella Nichols, and Clayton Tanner.

About the awards:

At Blackstone School, teachers nominate one student each week that is deserving of the Principal’s Award. This student can earn this achievement by making good choices, being a great friend, and working to the best of their abilities. Four names are randomly drawn each week. In addition to a prize out of the treasure box, those winners are rewarded with a pizza luncheon at the end of the month.

At Lincoln School, the REACH (Real Effort And Citizenship Honor) Award is given each month to one student from each classroom, nominated by their teacher. These students receive a certificate and pizza luncheon for their hard work and effort in and out of the classroom.

Fifth Grade Students of the Month and Team Awards (for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades) at Northbrook School are chosen by their teachers during their team discussions. These awards are not based on grades, instead on hard work and positive attitudes. Physical education, art, music, and computer teachers use the same criteria to select students for the Exploratory Award (for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades). Selected students receive a certificate and a coupon for a local food place.
