SUBLETTE — Former Sublette Village President John Stenzel was named Sublette’s Citizen of the Year.

Stenzel has been active in the Sublette community for many years. He served as trustee on the village board for 10 years and recently completed 16 years as village president. Stenzel also has served on the Lee County Tourism Board and was a member of the Sublette Fire Department.

The Citizen of the Year designation is not an annual award, but is given as recognition to a citizen who has done outstanding things for the village.

Stenzel is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Sublette Business Association, and is a volunteer at the Sublette Toy Show each year, and at many other events in the village.

He also is President of the Sublette Township Community Building and on the Sublette Park Board.
