UTICA – Starved Rock Lodge in Utica offers theater and special events throughout Februrary.
THEATER
“Dean Martin” will be presented on March 6 at 11:30 a.m. “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime”… and you’ll love this Tribute to the Stars performance at Starved Rock Lodge. Capturing the spirit of Dean Martin, Peter Oprisko brings the King of Cool back to life, with his renditions of Dino’s signature songs, style and sense of humor. “Sway to Blue Moon,” “Baby It’s Cold Outside” and” Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.” Call (815) 220-7386 to reserve your seats. Cost is $34 per person and includes lunch and the show.
“Simply Patsy Cline” will be presented on March 12-13 at 11:30 a.m. Since 2010, Mary Pfeifer has delivered the sounds of the late great Patsy Cline in her “Simply Patsy” tribute. Pfeifer has performed throughout Illinois and neighboring states, and was recently an invited guest to perform Patsy songs onstage in Nashville, Tenn. From Patsy’s first recordings in 1955 to her last in 1963, she will bring back memories of your favorite Patsy songs, including those famous hits like “Crazy” and “Walking after Midnight,” and reveal many facts about the young singer’s life.
SPECIAL EVENTS
“Fireside Yoga with Music” will be held on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. The fireside yoga class will be located in the peaceful Great Hall of the Lodge. The yoga class will focus on releasing stress and rejuvenating the body, mind and soul. Local guitarist and vocalist Steve Sharp will entertain you with inspirational music to the flow of Teresa Colmone’s yoga instruction. The yoga class will be accompanied by a warm indoor, wood-fed fire. Stay for the after party with hot chocolate and cookies. All levels of yoga are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat. A sled dogs demo will be featured on Feb. 18. Free Spirit Siberian Rescue will return for the demonstrations. Seminars take place in the LaSalle Room at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Outdoor sled dog demos will take place along the sea wall (just southeast of the Starved Rock Visitor Center) at 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
