MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - Stanley A. Kordek, 92, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Mendota, passed away June 17, 2019 in Mountain Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home with Father Norbert Rappold and Father Stan Swiderski as celebrants. Burial will be in the Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Mausoleum in Mountain Home, Ark. with military honors provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post 52 and the U.S. Army Honor Guards. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Stanley was born March 18, 1927 in Chicago to Frank and Anna (Krata) Kordek. He married Irene Konwent on Oct. 1, 1949 in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife of Mountain Home; a daughter, Linda (Joseph) Kordek Milton of Sunnyvale, Texas; one son, Thomas (Arleen) Kordek of St. Anna, Calif.; a daughter, Johanna (Alonzo Alviso) Kordek of Granada Hills, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Kordek of Elyria, Ohio; one sister, Florence Wozny of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David J. Kordek; three brothers and four sisters.

Stanley worked in printing for Combined Communications and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Mountain Home, Ark. since moving from Mendota in 1997. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 52, Elks Lodge 1714 BPOE, Polish National Alliance Club of Mountain Home, Holy Name Society, and the Polish American Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 60 years, was a past Grand Knight, and received the Charles C. Jaubert Award in 2006.
