Sisters of Daughters of Divine Love recently packed suitcases full of children’s clothing to be sent to their missions in Haiti, Cuba, and Jamaica. Members of St. Patrick’s Church in Maytown and their friends have completed 3,848 dresses and hundreds of britches for boys, and all fabric and sewing notions for this project are donated. Their project began in 2011 and has continued to grow. Friends come from Sublette, Rock Falls, Sterling, Tiskilwa, Ohio, LaMoille, Amboy, Mendota, and Downers Grove to help. Helping to pack suitcases with newly sewn clothing, left to right, are Sharon Full, Marilyn Blaine, Mary Ann Cardot, Sister Lilian, Kathy McLaughlin, Marilyn Weeks, Sister Mary Paul, Lisa Bickett and Candy Robinson. For information or a pattern, call Marilyn Weeks at (815) 638-2202. (Photo contributed)
