St. Margaret's Auxiliary awards scholarships

SPRING VALLEY - St. Margaret’s Auxiliary recently awarded five scholarships to area students who have been accepted into or who are currently enrolled in a health care professional curriculum. Recipients of this year’s scholarships include:

Kaelyn Condon is currently a student at Illinois State University and will begin her third year this fall. She was proudly awarded the $1,000 Janyce Stuckert Memorial Scholarship, presented by her family in honor of her. The St. Bede graduate hopes to become a nurse practitioner. A native of Spring Valley, she is the daughter of Michael and Christy Condon.

Madelyn Hultz, a recent Hall graduate, will attend Illinois State University this fall. She was recently awarded a $1,000 St. Margaret’s Auxiliary Scholarship to help further her goal of becoming an OB or pediatric nurse. She lives in Spring Valley with her parents, Scott and Nichole Hultz.

Ryan Marlett is in his second year at Dominican University pursuing his goal of becoming a physician’s assistant. The LaSalle-Peru High School graduate has already obtained his Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University. The son of John and Mary Marlett of LaSalle, he was awarded a $1,000 St. Margaret’s Auxiliary Scholarship.

Olivia Mueller is currently a student at Illinois Valley Community College’s nursing program while working at St. Margaret’s for four years as a CNA and ER registration clerk. A St. Bede graduate, she has been awarded a $1,000 St. Margaret’s Auxiliary Scholarship and hopes to become a certified nurse midwife or nurse practitioner. She currently lives in LaSalle and is the daughter of Scott Mueller and Ellen Jasiek Mueller.

Bailey Zmudka is continuing her education at St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing this fall after obtaining her Associates degree from IVCC earlier this year. The St. Bede graduate from Oglesby was awarded a $1,000 St. Margaret’s Auxiliary Scholarship. She hopes to complete her BSN degree and continue her education after graduation. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Louise Zmudka.
