PERU - Carter Funfsinn, a 2017 St. Bede Academy graduate, right, has received a full Army ROTC Scholarship, which was presented by Major James Polk. Funfsinn, the son of Steve and Kelli Funfsinn of Utica, will attend the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. this fall and major in civil engineering. The scholarship was awarded to Funfsinn based on superior academic achievement, exceptional leadership potential, and his desire to serve as an officer in the U.S. Army. While attending St. Bede, he participated in many activities including track and field, football, cross country, wrestling, Venturing Club, Interact Club and alter server. (Photo contributed)
