Princeton handed MHS its first conference loss with a 25-14, 25-22 win over the Spikers on Sept. 9.

The Tigresses were never in jeopardy in set one, but the second set was a different story as the Spikers led through much of the set. Mendota zoomed out to a 9-3 lead and it looked like the match was going the limit, but Princeton had other ideas.

Mendota held five-point margins at 12-7 and 16-11, and it still was in front 19-16 late in the set. But the Tigresses clawed their way back and eventually overtook the Spikers, 22-21. Mendota tied it at 22-all before Princeton reeled off the final three points to claim the match.

Maya Martin’s five kills paced the Spikers. Lauren Martin collected 13 digs, while Jenner had six assists.

Mendota’s records stand at 9-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
