Spikers cruise past Princeton

MENDOTA – The Mendota Spikers put together an all-around solid effort in claiming a 25-19, 25-17 triumph over Princeton in a Three Rivers Conference volleyball match on Sept. 7 at the MHS gym. Mendota improved its record to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Leading the charge for the Spikers were Laylie Denault (five kills, seven digs), Reanna Brant (three kills), Grace Wasmer (five kills), Madelyn Becker (two aces, three kills, 11 assists, 11 digs), Ana Ramirez (11 digs), Ava Eddy (eight digs) and Ryleigh Sondgeroth (five digs).
“I am really super proud of our team and the way they buy in and believe in the process and hard work paying off,” said Mendota coach Nicci Gibson. “All the credit goes to the girls. They executed our game plan and are great teammates full of love and support for one another.”
Princeton was a 25-10, 25-17 winner in the sophomore match and posted a 26-24, 25-15 triumph in the freshman contest.
