Soil & Water Management Seminar set for Feb. 20


CEU credits offered for Certified Crop Advisors

OGLESBY - Certified Crop Advisors and others interested are encouraged to sign up for an upcoming program on soil and water management. Sponsored by University of Illinois Extension, the seminar will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20 at U of I Extension on the IVCC campus in Oglesby.

Presentations will be delivered via PowerPoint and web conferencing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The webinar qualifies for 4.5 CEU credits in Soil & Water Management.

Topics and speakers include:

  • Extreme Weather Trends and Potential Soil Impacts - Dr. Trent Ford, Illinois State Climatologist
  • Controlled Burns, Soil Quality and Management Around Cropland - Dr. Sean Jenkins, Western Illinois University
  • Irrigation and Water Use Reporting - Steve Wilson, Illinois State Water Survey
  • In Field Drainage Water Management Using Control Structures - Dr. Kapil Arora, Iowa State University
  • Field Research on Cover Crops and Soil Quality - Nathan Johanning, University of Illinois Extension
