Mr. and Mrs. Tom Slutz celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 21.
On Jan. 21, 1968, Tom Slutz of La Moille and Connie Anderson of Princeton were joined together in marriage at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Clarion) in LaMoille. Their parents were Don and Lois Slutz and Al and Dorothy Anderson.
Tom worked in the fertilizer/chemical/seed sale industry for 45 years and retired from Ag View FS in 2013. Connie retired from the Bureau County Circuit Clerks Office, also in 2013. For over 40 years they have worked very hard to raise and show an outstanding flock of Shropshire sheep. With the help of their children and grandchildren, they have exhibited their sheep at numerous county, state, and national shows and sales.
Tom and Connie are the parents of three children: Tracy (Don) Newberry of Princeton, Tonya (Chris) Flaxington of LaMirada, Calif., and Brad (Carol) Slutz of Maple Park. They have five grandchildren: Rachelle Newberry, Logan and Hunter Flaxington, and Jaedyn and Drake Slutz.
