SUBLETTE — Shirley M. Swanson, age 78, of Sublette, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. She was born June 16, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Daniels) Plesz.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 1, 2017, in the Dinges Center in Sublette, with Pastor Jack Briggs, officiating. Shirley worked as a secretary, a subpoena deliverer, and a home health care aid for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending her time at Woodhaven Lakes in Sublette.
Shirley married Bruce Swanson in Chicago on Sept. 22, 1969. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2013. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Plesz, and one sister, Deanna Westfall.
Survivors include her children Everett Plesz, of Wadsworth, Ohio, John Russell, of Ayden, N.C., Deb (Robert) Kaiden, of Marion, Ohio, Albert Russell, of Pine River, Minn., Everett Russell, of Marion, Ohio, Sharon (Christopher Adams) Russell, of Amboy, and Jenny Haug, of Marion, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
