Sheaffer honored with LCFB Distinguished Service Award

AMBOY - The Lee County Farm Bureau (LCFB) was honored to recently recognize Leonard Sheaffer of Dixon with the Lee County Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award in recognition for his longtime service to the organization.

Sheaffer has been a lifelong supporter of Farm Bureau. He serves on the LCFB Board of Directors and is a long-time committee member, volunteer, and agriculture advocate. He has served on Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) Action Teams and the IFB Health Care Working Group, served as a delegate at the IFB Annual Meeting, and participated in the IFB Leaders to Washington program, is a graduate of the IFB Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow Program, and much more. Sheaffer has been a Farm Bureau member for the last 48 years.

The Distinguished Service Award was established to honor and recognize an individual or couple who has shown exemplary leadership and service to Farm Bureau, agriculture, and farmers in Lee County and beyond. Without the time, dedication, passion and vision from many hard-working volunteers, like Sheaffer, the Lee County Farm Bureau would not have lasted for more than 100 years. The Farm Bureau expressed their appreciation to Sheaffer for his continued service to the organization and were proud to recognize him as the Distinguished Service Award Recipient.
