PAW PAW – The Paw Paw School Board met on March 19.
The athletic co-op with Indian Creek is proceeding.
The school will co-op all sports teams except boys soccer for the 2018-1019 school year. Boys soccer is contracted to co-op with Earlville through the 2018-2019 school year.
Kern Lawn Care has been approved for the school’s lawn maintenance for the coming school year. Harrington Environmental Services of Rochelle have been contracted for weed prevention. Bus lease has been approved with Midwest Bus Inc. of Princeton.
The Apptegy Company has been hired to update and consolidate all of the technology pages, and they are helping with the redesign of the app and the school’s webpage: http://www.2paws.net.
Kindergarten teacher Ashley Stahl has been keeping the school Facebook page “Paw Paw CUSD #271” up-to-date.
Jessica Kolka, the school social worker, has been teaching students bullying-prevention.
At the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) Kishwaukee Regional Competition on Feb. 6, the Paw Paw team finished 2nd. Individual winners include Josef McKee, 2nd in Biology; Josh Mateja, 1st in Biology; Anthony Castaldo, 3rd in Math and 1st in Chemistry; Haley Oros, 3rd in Math; and Lia Cooper, 2nd in Engineering Graphics.
Anthony Castaldo won first place in Chemistry at the March 15 NIU Division 300 Sectional WYSE Competition.
