SUBLETTE – The profits generated from the Sublette Farm Toy and Antique Tractor Show are all invested back into the area. Three scholarships are awarded to FFA members from the Amboy and Mendota FFA chapters, as well as to the 4-H members from the Sublette and Maytown 4-H clubs.
Winners of this year’s scholarships are Zach Becker, Amboy FFA Scholarship; Marie Barnickel, Mendota FFA Scholarship; Grace Klein, Maytown Comets 4-H Scholarship. Also, Owen Wixom of Mendota won the Max Armstrong Scholarship.
Funds are also donated to local schools, churches, the fire department and other worthy charities around the community. Youth activities around Sublette are also funded by the proceeds.
The pancake breakfast sponsored by the Sublette Volunteer Fire Department also generates funds for purchasing equipment for the local fire and ambulance service. This is a major fundraiser for the department each year.
