Cremation rites have been accorded. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family.

Pancho was born May 3, 1963 in Durango, Mexico to Tomas and Juana (Sandoval Caballero) Tovar Sanchez.

Survivors include four stepsons, Anthony (Liliana) Arteaga of Florida, David (Yesenia) Arteaga of Bolingbrook, Sean (Stephanie) Arteaga of Mendota, and Ross Arteaga of Chicago; two brothers, Jaime Tovar of El Paso, Texas and Juan Manuel Tovar of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Marytona Tovar of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren; and his dog child, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his life companion, Kelly Courtney on Sept. 6, 2013; and one brother, Luis Alberto Tovar.

Pancho worked many years at Rochelle Foods as a forklift driver. He was a wonderful cook who loved cooking as much as he loved feeding people. At his house, you would never go hungry. He was passionate about all Chicago sports teams and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.
