MENDOTA - Rufino Tovar, 90, of Mendota passed away Jan. 14, 2021 at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be private. Pallbearers will be Martin Tovar, Jose Maria Tovar, Jose Carmen Tovar, Martin Tovar Jr., Roberto Rivera and Alejandro Tovar. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to be assisting the family.
Rufino was born Dec. 4, 1930 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose and Guadalupe (Moralez) Tovar. He married Maria Guadalupe Arreola in Mexico. She preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 2015.
Survivors include three sons, Jose Maria (Alicia Rodriguez) Tovar of San Antonio, Texas, Jose Carmen (Concepcion) Tovar of Austin, Texas and Martin Tovar of Elgin; six daughters, Rosaura (Roberto) Rivera of Mendota, Mary Cruz (Martin) Castenada of Rochelle, Matilda (Raul) Perez of Mendota, Adriana Hernandez of Mendota, Seraphina Tovar of Mendota, and Carolina (Enrique) Hernandez of Mexico; 37 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and sister: Raquel Tovar of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife, nine children, five brothers, two sisters and his parents.
