Rotary welcomes new SCF Queen

MENDOTA – The 2021 Sweet Corn Festival Queen, Perris Stachlewitz attended the Aug. 17 Rotary Club meeting. Stachlewitz, who was sponsored in the pageant by the Rotary Club, shared her experiences at the Sweet Corn Festival. She is also the outgoing president of the Interact Club at Mendota High School.

In other business, David Bills, Rotary District 6420 Governor from the Rotary Rivers Club at Port Byron, gave his annual report of the District. He stressed that each club should concentrate on membership.

Thomas Brooks, Rotary Assistant Governor, gave remarks on the three clubs he represents.

Melissa Sallee was inducted as a new member.

The next meeting of the Rotary will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at El Zarape Restaurant.
