LA MOILLE - Roger L. Cogdal, 73, of LaMoille died July 10, 2018 after a grain bin accident.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on July 16 at Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille with Rev. David Jungnickel officiating. Burial was at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. Visitation was from 3-6:30 p.m. on July 15 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota preceded by a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Patrick Fixsen officiating. Visitation was also held from 10 a.m. until time of services on July 16 at the church.

Roger was born July 28, 1944 in Mendota to Glen and Gladys (Gabrielson) Cogdal.

Survivors include his soul mate, Donna Monroe; two daughters, Denise (Roger) Walzer and Cynthia (Rodney) Rod; five grandchildren, Dustin (Brenda) Walzer, Lindsey (Nick) Pyszka, Rodney Rod II, Brody Rod and Jolett Rod; four great-grandchildren, Tenley, Brynley and Easton Pyszka and Graham Walzer; two brothers, Richard (Patti) Cogdal and Gary (Joan) Cogdal; three sisters, Sharon (Don) Piller, Janice Wamhoff and Deb Cogdal; nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Brenda Cogdal and brother-in-law, John Hild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Duane and Norman; and one sister, Barb Hild.

Roger was a 50-year member of Local 150 Operating Engineers and was engaged in farming in the LaMoille area. He was employed by Strunk Bros., Brown and Lambert, E. J. Cattani & Son, Country Crane, and Snook Crane prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Bureau County Farm Bureau and a past member of Elks Lodge 1212 and the LaMoille Masonic Lodge.
