MENDOTA – When a team looks at its schedule prior to the season, there are certain games it knows it has to win. For Mendota, one of those games was Rockford Christian. The Royal Lions were the only notch in the W column for the Trojans last year, so they had their sights on another victory this year.
But Christian had other ideas, as it rode the running and passing of quarterback Noah Kellerman to a 35-24 triumph over the Trojans in a Big Northern Conference matchup on Sept. 15 at the MHS field.
The Trojans are still searching for their first win four games into the season, while Christian has captured three of its first four contests.
