ROCHELLE – Rochelle had too much firepower and rolled over Mendota, 78-45, in a nonconference varsity boys’ basketball game on Jan. 4 at Rochelle.
The Hubs roared out to a 20-11 first-quarter lead and took a 41-24 advantage to intermission. Rochelle put the game away with a 29-point third frame as it dropped in five field goals from three-point land.
Emiliano Arteaga topped Mendota (2-15) scorers with 19 points, while Trent Stamberger added six points and Alexis Quintana provided five. Four Rochelle players hit double figures in scoring.
