Roam Franklin Creek State Natural Area, Sept. 8

FRANKLIN GROVE – Franklin Creek Conservation Association will host BioBlitz II on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants will roam the prairie looking for plants, insects, and the like. If you would like to participate, call (815) 456-2718.

A guided hike will also take place on Sept. 8 from 9-11 a.m. Join Katie McBride for a look at what’s blooming this fall.

The Franklin Creek State Natural Area is located in Lee County, 1893 Twist Road in Franklin Grove. Franklin Creek flows throughout the 922-acre park. Several large natural springs, hardwood forests, bedrock outcroppings, and a large variety of flora and fauna comprise the pristine ecosystem.
