DEKALB – Enjoy a fun bike ride through DeKalb and Kane Counties and support the historic Egyptian Theatre, Sunday, Aug. 17. Your participation in “Ride Like An Egyptian” benefits the Egyptian Theatre, operated by the non-profit organization Preservation of the Egyptian Theatre, Inc. The Egyptian Theatre is a fully restored 1929 Egyptian-themed art deco movie palace and vaudeville house.
The ride begins and ends at the Egyptian Theatre, so you will have the opportunity to explore this historic landmark. This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. Loop 1 starts at the Egyptian Theatre (135 N. 2nd Street, DeKalb) and goes east to Maple Park. From the Maple Park central rest stop, you can ride any (or all) of three 25-mile loops before returning to the Egyptian Theatre. All participants will be provided with route maps and all routes will be marked with signs.
The ride includes rest stop, SAG support, and end-of-ride meal. Commemorative T-shirts will also be for sale.
