MENDOTA - Richard A. Jordan, 36, of Mendota died March 23, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on March 29 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial was at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on March 28 at the funeral home.
Richard was born Jan. 30, 1981 in Spring Valley.
Survivors include his children, Jayleen and Julian Jordan, and Carlos and Isaac Delao; the children’s mother, Martha Delao; his mother, Christine (Hank) Grothen; one sister, Rachel (Jesse) Beetz; a niece, Karly Beetz; two nephews, Cooper and Keegan Beetz; three step-brothers, Brad Grothen and Dennis and Kyle Dirksen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Karl Dirksen; and his grandparents, Edward and Esther Jordan.
Richard was a 1999 graduate of Mendota High School. He was employed as a carpenter for H & H Builders, Mendota and later by Allied Construction of Iowa.
