INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Richard A. Budach, 85, of Indianapolis passed away April 9, 2021 in Indianapolis.

A memorial gathering was held at 11 a.m. on April 20 at Flanner Buchanan in Carmel, Ind. Burial was at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Richard was born Jan. 12, 1936 in Earlville to Wilhelm “William” O. and Florence (Engle) Budach.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Budach; four stepchildren, Sandy (Dan) Piper, Karla Anderson, Karen (Gregory) Smith and Richard (Kim) Curry Jr.; seven grandchildren, Amber Hicks, Robyn (Andrew) Kushner, Adam Piper, Andrea (Christian) Mason, Richard (Felicia) Curry III, Desire’ Anderson and Eddie McCullom; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joann Brown, Barbara McCann and Bernice Klein; and one brother, Elmer Budach.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Janice Budach; a brother, William Budach; and a sister, Doris Budach.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Mendota High School. He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 until 1965. He retired in 1993 as an accountant with the Department of Defense. He was a member of the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association, Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion in Noblesville, and the Association of Government Accountants.
