MENDOTA - The 10th Anniversary Relay For Life of Upper Illinois Valley (community event, campout, and walk) will take place at Lake Mendota Park from 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 to 6 a.m. July 14. The event will feature survivor and caregiver recognition, fun activities for all, a luminaria/memorial ceremony and a celebration of life. Funds raised not only support cancer research and prevention programs nationally, but provide countless free cancer support services directly to Illinois Valley residents in need (call 1-800-227-2345 or visit www.cancer.org for help).

In nine years, the local cancer charity has raised just under $1 million to fight cancer. Area residents are asked to please help the charity “March To A Million” with participation and donations. To register as a participant or cancer survivor (including our free dinner for cancer survivors), to learn more, to dedicate a luminary in support of a survivor or in memory of a loved one, or to make a donation, visit www.1mil.org.
