MENDOTA - Rebecca Lynn McDowell, 23, of Mendota died April 11, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at Christ's Church, Mendota with Bill Allison officiating. The Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
Rebecca was born Jan. 20, 1994 in Spring Valley to Jim and Teri (Miller) McDowell.
Survivors include her parents of Mendota; two sisters, Justine and Stephanie; one nephew, Jason; and her grandparents, Wayne and Madeline Shuman.
Rebecca was a 2012 graduate of Mendota High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. She received the James A. Noakes Scholarship, Mendota Business and Professional Women Scholarship and the Karen Fisher Scholarship. She received her Associate’s degree in Arts and Science from IVCC. She was a member of Christ's Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a Kids’ Klub teacher and a Vacation Bible School leader. She was employed as a receptionist/kennel staff by Ancare Veterinary Clinic, Mendota. She was both an artist and amazing friend and a believer in Jesus Christ.
