NAPERVILLE – Raymond J. Michel, 77, of Naperville passed away Oct. 15, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25 at the Friedrich Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville. Ray was born Feb. 20, 1944 in Dixon to Mildred (Gehant) and Raymond Michel. He married Cynthia Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cynthia; three children, Patrick (Susan) Michel, Christopher (Ann) Michel and Kate (John) Kowalski; eight grandchildren, Ashley (Robert) Saylor, Evan Michel, Kevin Michel, Grace Michel, Ryan Michel, Madeline Kowalski, Gavin Kowalski, and Paige Kowalski; and his cousin, Rose Ann Saylor.

Ray grew up in West Brooklyn, where he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Rose and Frank Gehant. He graduated from Mendota High School with the class of 1962. Upon graduation, he began working for the FBI while attending Strayer College in Washington, D.C., where he earned a degree in accounting. Ray worked for the FBI for 35 years as an agent and 15 years as a contractor. He loved to spend time with his family more than anything and especially cherished his time on the beach in Ocean City, Md.
