PERU – Rafael "Chino" Hermosillo, 33, of Peru, formerly of Mexico, passed away late March 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church in LaSalle with the Most Reverend Tom Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at Wasmer Funeral Home in Mendota following Mass in LaSalle. Burial will be later in Mexico. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to be assisting the family.

Rafael was born Oct. 10, 1989, in Atolinga, Zacatecas, Mexico to Rafael and Margarita (Anaya) Hermosillo. Chino grew up in Mexico and graduated high school in 2007. He came to the United States when he was 18. Rafael was co-owner of Nina's Market in LaSalle. 

Rafa will be forever missed by his parents, Rafael and Margarita of Atolinga, Mexico; son Rafael (Aaron) Hermosillo of Chicago; brothers Isaias Hermosillo of Atolinga, Mexico, Ismael Hermosillo of Peru and Hernan Luna of Peru; sister Belen Hermosillo Anaya (Lisandro Salinas) of Peru; two nieces; two nephews; and his maternal grandmother Ramona Garcia of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
