Paw Paw Village Board handles numerous items

PAW PAW – The Paw Paw Village Board met in regular session on Sept. 13.
The Wiley Avenue clinic has been sold for $40,000.
An accountant from Lauterbach & Amen gave a report on the village’s financials.
The Board is looking into assisting with making updating of the Lions refreshment stand in Veteran’s Park.
At a recent area mayors information seminar, various methods of mutual-cooperation and spending for major projects was presented,
The possibility of moving stop signs, lowered-speed signs, and creating a monitored cross walk at Chapman and Chicago Road were discussed.
Lee County Health Department will be at the community building for flu shots on Wednesday, October 18.
The Liquor Store is under new management and has obtained the necessary permits.
Village lawyer Matt Cole has been in discussions with the owner of the property at 311 Chicago Road, and brought to the Board a possible settlement with the village.
Trick-or-Treat hours for Halloween were set for 4-7 p.m.
TRIBE61353 is sponsoring “bring your seat, let’s trick-or-treat” on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 4-7 p.m. in the community center parking lot. This is a program that lets candy-givers sit and dole out candy for children who walk from chair-to-chair.
The software program for the Village needs to be updated. The Board is researching various companies for cost and efficiency.
The annual town-wide garage sales will be held on Sept. 29-30.
Electronic recycling will be Oct. 2-5. Put your electronic recycling at the end of your drive and the Village will pick it up. Remove batteries before recycling electronics. Lithium-ion batteries and devices containing these batteries should not go in household garbage or recycling bins.
