PAW PAW – The Paw Paw School Board of Education held a special board meeting on Feb. 26 to discuss sports co-oping with Indian Creek sports teams, and possible future high school reorganization with Indian Creek School District. Over 30 interested taxpayers attended. They heard the reasoning behind these explorations. The pros and cons were presented. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and state their opinions.
If sports teams were combined, this would allow Paw Paw students to participate in cross county, boys golf, girls golf, boys soccer, girls volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball, baseball, girls soccer, softball, bass fishing, and cheerleading.
When the Paw Paw board’s representatives previously met with Indian Creek, the exchange of ideas were fruitful and respectful. Present at this board meeting were some Indian Creek administration, board members, and parents.
A straw poll was taken, and the vast majority present voted in favor of pursuing both options, with no opposition voiced.
The next Paw Paw School Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 19 at 7 p.m.
