Leo Fishing Derby needs volunteers
The Annual Lions Club Fishing Derby is fast approaching. This is an event planned by 15 local Lions Clubs to create an especially fun day for persons with disabilities. They need all available LEOs to help. The event will take place Thursday, July 20 in the Community Building parking lot at 7:30 a.m. They will be taking rides to Lake Shabbona. Jobs include putting up tents, face painting, and driving the tram.
Library Upcoming Events
The Paw Paw library will soon be hosting a few events to kick off their summer reading program. First, on Thursday, July 13 at 6 p.m., they will host the “Scare Up A Good Book” event. This event is free and everyone is welcome to join. There will be a puppet show and good reading activities.
Next, there will be a “Month of Holidays” event starting on Wednesday, July 19 and continuing through Wednesday, Aug. 9.
In addition, there will be separate activities available for older children on Thursdays starting on July 20. Sign-ups and more information are available at the Paw Paw Library.
Harvest Market vendors sought
The Harvest Market is currently looking for anyone who sells produce, plants, flowers, honey, baked goods, salsa, jams and jellies, pickled items, farm fresh eggs, etc. for the 2nd Annual Harvest Market. This will be an outside event in Mendota at the GoFore Hole Driving Range and Tavern on Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are interested and would like information and an application, contact Nicole Smith. Applications can also be picked up at the GoFore Hole.
