OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Medical Reserve Corps will hold a Friends and Family CPR training at Lake Mendota on Saturday, June 10 from 9-11:30 a.m. This free session is offered so members of the community can learn basic CPR skills.

The Family & Friends CPR course teaches adult hands-only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

The class will take place at the front shelter of Lake Mendota and can accommodate 30 participants. Certificates of completion will be given at the conclusion of the course. While there is no cost for the training, participants who wish to purchase the book ($2) must use cash that day.

To register, click on the event and training calendar on the LaSalle County MRC website at http://www.lasallecountymrc.org or call (815) 433-3366 to register through the LaSalle County Health Department. Please register by Friday, June 9.
