OSF Saint Paul requests community input on health needs survey

Posted

MENDOTA - OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center is requesting help from the local community to determine and prioritize health needs. A survey is now available for all LaSalle County residents.

To participate, complete the survey online at www.osfsaintpaul.org or pick up a paper copy at any of the following Mendota locations: Community Health Partnership of Illinois, 1009 Main St., Mendota Area Senior Services, Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce and Trinity Health Care/Nightingales, 708 Jefferson St.

“Every community has different health care needs,” said Dawn Trompeter, president of OSF Saint Paul. “Through this survey, we hope to get input from a broad set of community members to help us focus our efforts on the challenges and opportunities unique to Mendota and its surrounding areas.”

OSF HealthCare hospitals conduct community health needs assessments every three years and put together plans to meet the community needs that the assessments identify. After data is collected and each community's health needs are prioritized by greatest need, administrative and caregiver teams at OSF HealthCare work together to further support current community-based health programs and services, as well as starting new programs to help meet the needs for each community.

“Our last survey identified Behavioral Health – Mental Health and Substance Abuse as one of the greatest opportunities for improvement in our community,” said Trompeter. “We took feedback from the survey and through a collaborative approach were able to implement the Behavioral Health Navigator program, Telepsych services, and SilverCloud Health.”

The survey affecting OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center will be available until Aug. 31. For more information, visit www.osfsaintpaul.org or contact JoEllyn Gahan, Community Relations Specialist at (815) 539-1659.
