MENDOTA - Becker’s Hospital Review, the leading magazine for hospital news and analysis, has included OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center in Mendota as one of the “66 Critical Access Hospitals to Know.” Six other hospitals in Illinois were also recognized along with OSF Healthcare Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.
Critical Access Hospitals have 25 or less inpatient beds, and maintain an annual average length of stay of 96 hours or less for acute care patients. These hospitals also offer 24/7 emergency care and are located in remote areas. There are 1,348 CAHs located throughout the United States.
